3 Churches I’m Praying for this Easter

Posted by christian on April 3, 2012

As Journey Church International prepares for our Easter weekend of ministry I’ve been praying for 3 other churches in the Lee’s Summit area that I know are having tremendous impact in our area.  When our church started last September we did not show up to “save the day” in Lee’s Summit.  Instead, we simply joined the work that was already being done, and we worked to be faithful in the small part of ministry that God has called us to in this community.  These 3 churches are doing it well – and I’m praying God blesses them big time this Easter:

Discover Church – Pastor Mike Evans

One of the greatest pastors in our city is Mike Evans at Discover Church.  This man cares more about ‘God’s Church’ growing than ‘his’ church growing, and he and his church celebrate their 2nd Easter this weekend.  Praying that God blesses Discover with an awesome weekend.

Eagle Creek Church – Pastor Matt Harris

I’ve been praying for Eagle Creek Church since late February when they announced that they were adding a new Children’s facility and a 3rd service in March, and a 2nd campus this Fall.  God is doing something cool in our community through this church. Praying their Easter is awesome.

Abundant Life Baptist Church – Pastor Phil Hopper

One of the fastest growing and most impactful churches in Kansas City is right here in Lee’s Summit.  Abundant Life has recently announced plans for a major building project and they are taking huge steps of faith to establish a great ministry beachhead for Jesus in Lee’s Summit.  I’m praying for Pastor Phil and for all the staff team and volunteers at Abundant Life this Easter as they will minister to multiple thousands with the message of Jesus’ love.

Our church is a part of what God is doing in our community – not the sole carrier of Jesus to our community.  I’m honored to serve alongside these churches this weekend, and dozens others that I haven’t mentioned.  Let’s all work together to let the world know that “Jesus is Alive!” this Easter.
