Sunday at Journey Church International we had one of our greatest days ever. Honestly, it was a day that I will never forget – and a lot of the people who were there will never forget it either. Here’s why:
LIFE-CHANGE:
Five people Sunday raised their hands that they had prayed to become a Christian by inviting Jesus to forgive their sins and become the leader of their lives. It was AWESOME!
STAR WARS:
For no other reason than this, many will never forget Sunday at our church. Sunday was “Star Wars Day” in our Kid’s Ministry, and we had Star Wars characters ALL OVER THE PLACE! We even had a full-size, exact replica, “Storm Trooper” meeting people as they walked into church. Best of all, our kids learned about the battle between “Good” and “Evil” in the Bible, and how to overcome. We had over 100 children Sunday at J.C.I. – one of our biggest kids days ever.
MY MENTOR:
My mentor from college (and in life the last 12 years), Pastor Barry Rice, flew into town from his church in Orlando and spoke to our congregation about “Becoming a Man of God”. Barry is one of the greatest Christian men that I know, and he taught me a lot about being a man of God. When I knew I wanted our men to learn this information, he was the first person that came to mind to teach them. He is passionate, super-intense, and he delivered a great challenge to our men to become who God created us to be. SMALL GROUPS:
Our church had nearly 150 adults in one of 16 small groups that meet throughout the week all over metro Kansas City last week. That, in itself, is incredible for a brand new church like ours. The group that I attend is on Sunday night – AND I LOVE IT! Each week I am meeting new people and building new relationships. It has become one of the highlights of my week! I’m thankful for my Small Group Hosts, Hope and Justin Reeder, and for Pastor Ryan Holt, who organizes and oversees all of our Small Groups. You guys are making a difference in lives – and I can’t thank you enough!
This week I’m preaching on SEX! It’s going to be HOT – hope you can be there to learn the Biblical value of Sex and Romance within a Biblical marriage!
